Professor Chih-Wen Kuo received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991 and started to serve in National Sun Yat-sen University the same year. He is a professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Institute of Communications Engineering. He received the Distinguished Professorship in 2019.

His research interests include time domain numerical method developments with applications to scattering, EMI, antenna designs, and planar circuit designs.
